Welcome to Mrs. Gonzalez's Web Page!!!! We are having a great start to a new year!!!! Our 1st graders are very eager learners. Come visit my classroom any time. The doors are always open!!! We were given some great news this year- our first graders helped in putting DISD on the map- our improvements in reading helped rank us in the top 2% in Texas. Which means- we will be given extra funding for reading instruction!!
There is a lot of learning going on in first grade. Please stay involved in your child's school activities. Any and all notes that willkeep you informed- will be sent home in your child's HOMEWORK FOLDER or their FRIDAY PACK. Check homework daily and sign your child's assignment sheet daily. Please make sure your child is reading everynight for at least 20 mminutes. They can read an AR book, fluency passage or practice their sight words.
